Laws of Nature – Fundamentals of Chinese Intelligence

Unknown to many who think that Yin & Yang 5 Elements are simplistic and superficial cultural myth, these are in fact THE fabric of ancient Chinese culture and social developments over thousands of years.

Amongst researchers who spend years looking into these wisdom, there is a common consensus that such profound intelligence is the essence from thousands of years of work by numerous great men in history. These are work from their observations of Nature applied onto their respective disciplines of Medicine, Divination, time keeping, inventions – compass etc. It has to come from from highest level of intelligence and/or many generations (in hundreds, thousands of years) of knowledge development.

In all disciplines of Chinese Arts and Science, these concepts are integral and fundamental:

Yin & Yang 陰陽
Trilogy of Heaven, Earth & Man 三才、三元,

Five Elements 五行

The premise is simple:

  • Within Chinese Cosmology, all creations or living organisms are born from Yin and Yang

一陰一陽之為道

  • There is always a Heaven, Earth and Man component in each of these living organism.
  • Within each of these Trilogy, there lies is further components of Yin & Yang 5 Elements.

These organisms may be as big as Mother Earth and as small as a grass. We see them each as one TaiJi 太極, no matter the size and its presence.

To attain health, and maintain positive growth, there has to be a balance of Qi (a form of life-force energy). Qi is only positive when Yin & Yang 5 Elements are balanced with all Heaven, Earth & Man components factored in.

In terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine or Chinese Metaphysics, there division and sub-divisions of bigger TaiJi to smallest unit of TaiJi are specific.

Each human is seen as a microcosm of the world in which the physician and Metaphysicis practitioner strive to cultivate balance in Yin & Yang. Each person (or house) has a unique terrain to be maintained.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is assumed that the body is an integrated whole. Each organ has a mental, physical and spiritual function that cannot be separated from the whole. The organs are corelated and balancing the Yin & Yang is paramount to keeping the body from virus attack. The physician uses acupuncture, herbs and food to recover and sustain health in the person.

A proficient physican not only feels the pulse of his patients for dianogises but also talk to his patients to understand his lifestyle. He/she then factors in 四時 climate changes before coming to a final dianogisis.

Similarly, in Chinese Metaphysics, the Chinese Metaphysician practitioner uses birthdata (BaZi 八字 or ZiWeiDouShu 紫微斗數) and/or his/her residence/office’s physionomy to map a person’s life trend. He/she then talks to the subject to understand the issues on hand before dispenses appropriate and specific advice for the person to take action, and, uses Feng Shui techniques to harness positive Qi so that the person receive opportunities and good health in his/her endeavours.

This thorough process of understanding a subject is termed: 辨證. This is a traditional approach and at FIRST PRINCIPLES INC., we apply the same methodology in order to be effective with assisting our clients.
