Gua Images of the Stars

‘The images of Heaven reflected on Earth as forms’ is a phrase translated from the ancient classic titled ‘Entering Earth Eyes’. Loosely interpreted, it means that the stars in the constellations become visible to the naked eye as mountains on Earth. Each individual star and mountain reflects different personalities, both good and bad, depending on its shape, timeliness and structure.

Let us examine the nature of the stars with regards to their usefulness and influence.

Star 1 is by nature a good white star. Academically and scholarly, it is strong in the north palace but weak in the south palace. If it were to be placed alongside with star 2 in the south palace, it becomes polluted and no longer remains useful. If you have a star 1, 4 and 7 in the southeast palace, it probably indicates sexual influences. Therefore its usefulness depends on the company it resides with. The same principle applies to most of the stars.

To condemn the maternal star 2 as a sickness star for 160 years and to leave the remaining 20 years for her goodness to reveal is prejudice. There are always two facets to the quality of a star. Her goodness reveals her healing power. Indeed she can cure many illnesses. She is Mother Earth, the giver of life.

The opinionated action star 3 is where the Sun rises and the beginning of all systems. It is about aggressive entrepreneurship. The impulsive risk taker takes challenges in his stride. His thunderous entrance is straightforward and independent yet he impatiently exits in hastiness.

In the Chinese language and dialects, the number 4 is phonetically a synonym of death. It is customary to avoid all contact with the number 4. Star 4 becomes the victim as a result. This is the nonsensical analogy of the highest order. Would you consider those born on the 24 April 2004 at 4 am as doomed and grossly unfair? She is the wind that carries the Qi across thousands of miles through the mountains and valleys, caressing the fields and only releasing the vital Qi at the boundaries of water while she carries on her journey tirelessly in search of new Qi.

The mysterious yellow star 5 is always the fearsome one for he is the total destroyer and extremist. He is also known as the Emperor star for his awesome wealth, command and control. To understand how he liberates and resurrects heap wonders from the untapped power of the five.

The charismatic paternal star 6 governs with authority and leadership. Though the well-respected man of high places is a figure of benevolence, offending him would cause you mental anguish.

The metallic robbery star 7 has been the highly sought after princess of wealth for the last twenty years because of her timeliness. Many have opened double-sevens door to activate the prosperous star and yet not many have prospered. Some has gone bankrupt. It is through this period that gives us the experience and understanding that the star 7 does not always prosper with timeliness alone. Other considerations include the strength of the palaces, the guas and careers of the residents, the host and guest relationships of the stars and the directions they face. During period 7, does water weaken the metal or does water really activate her evilness? Or are you just trying your luck? A little knowledge is indeed dangerous.

Our glorious mountain star 8 has finally arrived. He represents fundamentals and firm foundation. The retrospective honest man is also an investor of much planning but of little actions. As we luxuriate in the personal comfort of his riches and wealth, beware of his spasm of stubbornness. The mountain may come potentially strapped with a time bomb. Phonetically inclined to prosperity in the Chinese language, the beneficiary of the Chinese custom generates high demand for his service as the lucky number. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of those born on the 8 August 1988 at 8 am. Otherwise, date selection would become redundant and those businesses that officiated their openings on these dates are assured of wealth and prosperity.

The compassionate star 9 is the fire element of brightness and beauty. It is the sign of advancement and graduation. Her spiritualism is passionate, her desire is infectious and her actions are aggressive. She is the eyes and the heart. As the heat of an earthly fire, her dependence on resources agitates her temper like a volcano eruption. As the warmth of the heavenly Sun, she continues tirelessly in her routine as the provider of life.

Qi activates the persona of a star. If a killing Qi confronts the star 7 at the door, then expect the negative trait to personify regardless the period. A sitting star 8 met with a bald and edgy mountain in the northeast spells unhappiness, direct spirit location all the same. Likewise, to exhibit the positive usefulness of the stars, just ensure they receive positive Qi. We have to accept the fact the location takes precedence over direction. Feng Shui is about location. It has to be in place to tap the positive Qi. Directions are just criteria to modify the Qi level.

Many practitioners carelessly ignore the importance of the palaces. The palaces must be well supported and protected before the stars can be of any use. The palace is the body, while the stars are the applications on the body.

In the applications of the stars, the host and guest relationship is the prime determinant of usefulness and compatibility. The other being the introduction of arbitrator to balance or harmonise the relationship, enhances the compatibility and to support the palace.

All the stars in the chart can be used. It is how and when you chose to use it. Understanding the stars’ qualities, its uses and attributes goes a long way in helping you differentiate the prince from the pauper.
